Fine, Don't Listen.

*Faster, Skittles!*

"The horse will DIE if I go any faster!"

*WE'LL ALL DIE IF YOU DON'T GO FASTER!*

Martia, Skittles, and the horse crashed through bushes at a break neck pace. Why? Because they were being chased by one of the extremely large, native dragons. It puzzled Skittles how Martia could make enemies so quickly. What completely baffled him was the fact that she had made enemies with something so HUGE.

Skittles had never bothered with dragon slaying because it was dirty in more ways than one. It also had a low success rate (Skittles could guess why) and there was no profit or benefit in killing something that held so much natural magic.

He would parade around with a sign saying "Don't kill dragons" but right now he was being chased by a very angry one.

*You know what? I really wish we could fly right now!*

"It wouldn't help, she can fly."

*Greaaaaat.*

"You should have thought of that BEFORE you made her angry! How did you do that anyway?"

*... When you put two different other world female dragons in the same place and they have opposing goals this tends to happen.*

"You know this for a fact?"

*Remember all those books we read at that library? Well, the said that. Don't blame me for statistics.*

A large crashing sound came from behind them.

"Dash! She's getting closer and the horse is going to give out." Skittles whimpered. Where was Sprite when you needed he the most?

Time seemed to stop as the horse stopped its pace abruptly, and almost threw both dragon and werewolf to the ground. The horse gave a very indignant huff and turned around

Martia and Skittles both looked at each other in confusion. What confused them even more was the fact that the dragon chasing them had stopped in its tracks.

There was a very long and awkward silence that followed.

"Okay, What's going on?"

*Good question.*

"And here's your answer," said a small female voice.

*Sprite? Is that you?*

"Oh course!"

*Why are you a disembodied voice?*

"I'm not," there was a fluttering sound as she came into view. She was currently very small, and she was sitting on the pursuing dragon's head.

*Oh.*

"Well I did talk to your new friend, and she said she would stop this madness if you said you were sorry, Martia." Sprite said in a very causal voice.

*... I'm very sorry Mrs. Dra... I'm sorry I can't pronounce your name either.*

The giant dragon narrowed its eyes and nodded. Satisfied it stalked off, standing up all of the trees it had knocked down earlier as it went.

Sprite stood on Martia's head as she explained to her that she was a Sylpheed and could do things like this on a normal basis. It was still very odd for Martia to understand, since she wanted to know how it worked. ( Not like that was very unusual for her. )

*You know your wings are a lot prettier when your big and have them out.* Martia said to change the subject slightly.

"Why thank you! I'll remember that the next time I go and buy a dress." Sprite slowly looked around. "Why aren't we moving?"

*Yes, why aren't we moving, Skittles?*

"The horse..." Skittles' voice was barely a whisper. "Just said that it quit."

*How... can a horse talk?*

"Ask it."

Despite the fact that Martia thought her bondmate had finally lost it, she asked the horse.

It said, quite clearly, in plain common speech, "Does it really matter? Get off my back and walk."

With that it tossed the three riders onto the ground with a kerthunk and trotted off. All three of them were sitting on the ground stunned. What had just happened?

***

Taeda was on the floor laughing and rolling around like an idiot. "No! Seriously, what happened?"

"I'm telling the truth!" said Skittles in an annoyed voice. He spotted Fulmen out of the corner of his eye who had started to laugh as well. "Don't you start!"

"I'm sorry Skittles, but that is a bit far fetched." Fulmen said.

"You heard it from the girls too! It's true." Skittles said with a bit of a snarl. He really didn't feel like having his buttons pushed.

"All right! All right! Fine, but we need to get a new horse." Taeda said still chuckling.

Skittles covered his face with both hands as he plopped down on his bed. En'dai had not called them, so they still had no mission besides their basic one. There was no real rush, and he could do with a brief vacation.

"Sprite?"

"Yes, Skittles?"

"Shall we go shopping?"

Sprite paused, "For what? Horses?"

"Anything. I need a break."

Martia bounced on her bed, *Let's go to the library! Maybe they have books on dragons. If we're really lucky they'll have a good book on Bishel dragons.*

"I doubt it, but we could try." Sprite said, "but first we should go to bed. It may only be nine, but I'm dreadfully tired."

"Stupid horse making us walk all that way..." Skittles muttered and ranted to himself.

*But Sprite, Skittles! I don't want to go to bed!*

"Sleep is your friend Martia," Skittles said quietly from his bed.

*Who needs sleep!*

"I do."

"We all do." Sprite waved her hand at the two angecur who had managed to fall asleep a few minutes before hand.

*But... Fine mom and dad I'll go to bed.* Martia curled up in a frustrated little ball.

"Good--Wait... what do you call us?" Skittles sat up on his bed.

Sprite looked at Martia wide eyed.

She blinked a few times, *I called you mom and dad, since you seem to act a lot like parents.*

"That's..." Skittles could not help but trail off.

"... strange." Sprite finished for him.

*No, you to are just in denial. I know you two like each other.*

"We do not!" The couple shouted as their defense.

*I'm a dragon with a bond to one of you, and it's completely obvious to see that you two will be an item.*

"Just go to bed Martia." Skittles said as he removed his shoes and coat. "You're just stalling."

*Suuuure.* Martia stuck out her tongue. She was telling the truth, and it was fine by her if they could not deal with it right now.

Funny, they seemed to be more like children than her.
