Heroes of Nothing
Prologue

Sometimes the lines of reality and imagination become blurred. Other times they are as clear as a bell. What would happen if those lines were obliterated? Would you be stuck in some world with no rules? Would you be able to do the impossible?

In the case of this poor girl, not exactly.

She had been having a normal day. She rushed out of bed, managed to find a pair of matching socks, ate a breakfast bar, jumped over the cat to reach the cars keys, and finally she made it to the car.

It was Halloween, and she thought nothing. Her yearly costume was in the back of the car, and she would change at school with her friend. The car door popped open with a sound little click. All was well. All was normal.

When the girl arrived at school everything seemed fine as well. Quickly, yet carefully she put her knight outfit on in the school bathroom. Then she heard it.

A gun had gone off. She did not know were but she knew perfectly well that it would be a good idea to hide. Thanks to Murphy's law the gunman decided to come into the bathroom, and also thanks to the amazing law the main character was shot.

Oh. It would have made sense if she had awakened in a hospital bed a week later. Of course that did not happen, In fact she woke up in the least probable place.

A dark and nasty cave.

'Maybe it's a prank?' Thought the young lady. Fedora was her name, and her favorite pass time was Massive Multi- Player Online  Role Playing Games or MMPORPG for short. When a new game had been released she would always be the first to buy it. She was the queen of all MMPORPGs. Everyone had heard of Fedora Lita and all of her incarnations.

The game she loved the most was the most advanced. The technology was five years beyond any other game out there. It had a simple name, "Heroes of Far,"  and the Queen of games had managed to receive the highest honor of knights.

Everyday Fedora told herself that it was just a game. She could never achieve anything as great as that in real life.

Real life? What was that anyway?

She snapped back to reality. "I was shot... and now I'm here. Does this mean I'm..." Fedora touched her hair. Something was not right about it. When had it grown out this long? Carefully, the young woman stood up doing her best not to wobble. It was difficult because she seemed to weigh a lot more than she usually did. Stumbling she made her way out of the cave. When she made it to the light she gave a gasp of horror.

It had to be an elaborate prank. She was not, she could not be, she could NOT be stuck in a video game.

Well... it was not heaven.

"If fate had a voice, it would be laughing right now," The knight whispered before falling to the ground in tears.

Relatively short prologue, but it gets the point across. Now, use the other inline frame for navigation. Everything is self explanatory. This (If you haven't figured it out already.) Is made for the Bishen Realm Halloween contest.

Rated PG-13
for adult themes, and references, and graphic content. I'm warning you I rate everything PG-13 because I don't know what kids under that age should be reading.

Oddly enough I recommended you listen to Duran Duran while reading this, just because that's normally what ends up on the radio when I get ready to write this.

Enjoy your stay. *evil laugh*
