What are Vampires in Fire and Ice?
They're beings that need to suck blood to live, and they are classified as "undead" because of their reproduction method of choice.


Reproduction and Turning
Well, vampires do have the power to have children, however their children won't really be vampires, they would be a hybrid of something else entirely. So most vampires choose to turn people into other vampires. It's a terrible complicated process, but all vampires have the capacity to do it... just not the will.

The first step of turning is sucking the all of the victim's (... >_> do you know many people willing to become undead?) blood. Then the vampire (who would be called sire or dame at this point) has to give the victim their blood. After that, the sire/dame has to let the victim sleep for at least two days. If the victim is interrupted, the process either fails and the subject dies or something weird happens. Normally a dame/sire will put a victim in a dungeon or obsucre place if they want that subject. In some cases, like ancient vampires, they leave a "mark" of themselves... it's hard to explain.


Personality Changes
Some vampires go through personality changes after they turn. Alexei for example, became really depressed and self mutilated himself for a while. After that his "old" personality popped up again, with a few little changes. Alexei was lucky that it only took him a year to adapt, since it normally takes much longer.

Agari's personality changed from meek little boy to "I'm going to kill everyone who's pretty and make them mine" basket case. Lovely isn't it? It's common for a vampire to go through a HUGE change like that.


King and Queen Vampire
The two most powerful vampires, one of each gender, get the title of King and Queen. They tend to hold power over multiple clans. Agari holds the title of King and Lady Conaway holds the title of Queen. They want to kill each other.

Clans
Ugh, you see vampires tend to remain with the person who turned them. They form alliances, etc, to become stronger and higher ranked within the group. In some cases *coughs* Agari *coughs* it's more like a harem. In most cases it's kind of like an underground society.

Kind of Vampires
... They're all undead.

Normal - typical young vampires who need to suck any kind of blood.

Soul - These vampires don't suck blood, but they steal pieces or the person's soul by feeding off their misery. Yum!

Selective - vampires that can only drink certain kinds of blood. Like Alexei can only drink Res and Human blood. >_> they're pretty impractical and don't happen often.

Doll - Reanimated corpses, that need blood to stay in "human" form.

Sanquis - Vampires that need to feed off of other vampires. These are extremely rare.

Incubus/Succubus - >_> yeah, they're classified as vampires, because they become such through bite and personality. Nasty buggers.

Hybrid - When a vampire keeps some of their previous races major attributes. Like a Res Vampire that still has the ability to transform into their original form. This happens quite often.


Killing a Vampire
Crosses, garlic, and holy water don't work. Decapitation is the safest way to kill a vampire. The second safest way is to shove something sharp through their hearts, but then again these methods would kill anyone.
