The Process of making a Living Doll
The doll maker, before the death of his sister, created a process to transfer a person's soul from their body to another. This came at a great price to him--but he did prefect it. His notes go something like this:
1. The candidate must be in ill health, they must desperately want a cure for something seemingly hopeless. In Jin-ho's case, and incurable illness, in Nkiru's case, bleeding to near death from a wound on the battle field. If the person has ill intentions the process will fail, and if the person has fears or doubts, the process will stop before it begins, and kill the original body. If the candidate is completely healthy, they will die or suffer major brain damage during the transfer.
2. The ability to withstand strong magic currents. Due to the strong magic involved, people who are easily put under "suggestions" are not good candidates. They must have a strong will against the magic being used, if they give themselves up to it their soul is lost in the process.
3. Determination is needed, for the subject to properly adjust fast enough to the transfer process. Otherwise memories will be lost, and the results will be less than desirable.
4. A strong enough doll shell must be provided, otherwise the soul will not "take" to the shell. If it does not take, the shell may shatter, among other things, and leave the soul lost to the air.
5. Using a transfer spell from the books of the Ancient race, it's simple to change the soul into pure energy and place within the doll, however, if the subject ever sees the original body the process will reverse. The subject will more than likely die, or something much worse.
